ADULT DAY & VOCATIONAL SERVICES

Dreamshine's adult day program provides education in life skills, social skills, healthy living skills, as well as job training skills. We also offer community involvement and volunteering opportunities. Currently, Dreamshine individuals who choose to participate are volunteering at one or more of the following locations:

We also run fundraisers to help benefit individuals with special needs in Ethiopia. 

Our volunteer group loves knowing they are helping others and each person shines with sense of accomplishment as meals are delivered to people in our local community.  

 

Dreamshine also has taken part in an awesome program with Life Care Alliance to assist helping Seniors and their beloved companions by delivering pet food to the homes of people in need. Long term results of our volunteer group assisting those in need helps keep pets happy and healthy by assisting in pet care and also reduces the number of pets at animal shelters by helping seniors care for their pets.

 

We offer a wide variety of creative learning, vocational and recreational opportunities tailored to each individual's interest and needs, including but not inclusive of: bowling, out for coffee, library, swimming, hot tub (on site at Dreamshine!),

​​​Dreamshine also provides recreational activities, weekly outings, daily exercise opportunities, educational tutoring, and groups and social building. Our daily schedule includes both indoor and outdoor activities. Indoor activities take place in our fully heated and air-conditioned log home facility. 

 

Dreamshine provides door-to-door transportation ​to and from each participant's home. Participants arrive to Dreamshine by 9:30 am and leave for home at 2:45 pm. Dreamshine's adult day program is open year round ​M-F from 9:30 am - 2:45 pm.

HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

Dreamshine observes the following Holidays

 

  • New Years Day

  • July 4th

  • Labor Day

  • Memorial Day

  • Thanksgiving Day

  • Day After Thanksgiving

  • ​Christmas Eve

  • Christmas Day

If a Holiday falls on a Saturday, it will be observed on the Friday before the Holiday. If a Holiday falls on a Sunday, it will be observed on the Monday after the Holiday.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

Participant homes are called in the event of inclement weather. These include

 

  • Transportation Status

  • Closings

  • Delays

  • Early Departures

 

In most cases, calls will begin at 7:30 am to report any delay or closing in regards to transportation and the Dreamshine program. In some cases, you may receive a call the evening before if a determination has been made at that time. If you do not receive a call and your pickup window has been missed (for any reason), please call Dreamshine's Transportation Coordinator at 614-312-0195.
